Bad Tattoo

If you have a bad tattoo, hindsight has probably shown you what went wrong. This article will hopefully give you some hints to avoid it happening again.
What are the two things I notice most with people as soon as the summer arrives and the sun comes out?
1. A lot of people are overweight, and wear ill-fitting skimpy clothing, exaggerating the fact.
2. There are a lot of people with BAD TATTOO DESIGNS out there!
We've all seen them haven't we?

The lopsided heart motif on the forearm which looks like a child's crayon has been used. The "portrait" of a loved one that looks like your favourite animal. The written script that is spelt incorrectly, and isn't straight.
Just Google the term "bad tattoo designs" and look at the images, its horrific. I'd like to think that some of the images are hoaxes but sadly it's probably not the case. Some designs are well crafted, but the subject matter is a joke and was quite obviously conceived when the tattoo collector was less than sober at the time.
So how do you end up with a bad tattoo design?

1. Believing that you or a close friend are the best thing to happen to the tattoo world and attempt to do it yourself. Home made tattoos are the worst culprits. They are poorly executed with the wrong methods and materials and look exactly that. As if a child has crayoned the image on.

2. Getting blind drunk with your friends, managing to convince the tattooist that you are somewhat sober, and deciding that some random cartoon character would look good on you chest. The side effects of drink obviously don't last forever. Wake up in the morning and the first thing you will be thinking off is how to get rid of the ink. You can't. Not without expensive and painful laser surgery.

3. Having a great idea for a tattoo, but not spending enough time to plan the layout. Part of the beauty of tattoo art is how the piece compliments the body placing. For instance, a Japanese dragon flowing down the side of your arm or leg can look very striking. But just plonking it in the most available space on your body can have disastrous effects to any further placing of tattoos. If you've decided on a great piece then fine. But spend MORE TIME deciding on where you're going to place it.
